White lichen brooch

This brooch is made from sterling silver, resin, salt and stainless steel. It was exhibited as part of Radiant Pavilion in Melbourne, 2015. 

Making three-dimensional, sculptural work is important to me. I like to build up layers and to use unexpected materials. I often come back to the same subject matter over and over, trying different techniques and materials to vary the way I can depict a particular theme. Lichens are one of these perennial sources of wonder.
