This necklace is about Amy Sherwin who became 'The Tasmanian Nightingale', an opera singer who toured the world with an Italian opera company. While most of us know little about her she is an important woman from Tasmanian history. This necklace was exhibited as part of Gilded Encounters at Hadley's Orient Hotel in 2018-2019.
The necklace is made from sterling silver, fine silver, polished bone and has a sterling silver chain.
