These earrings are part of a series of fragment-based works. In my current research, I explore the idea of the fragment as a symbol of the unfinished work, for settler Australians, of learning to belong. Learning to live lightly featured at Truth or Dare, New York Contemporary Jewellery Week (Adorn axis 2023) and also at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery exhibition Precious in 2023.
I engrave text into silver, brass, coal, gold and copper before creating fragments that can be assembled into jewellery.
