This piece was made for the exhibition Hidden Histories (2020) at Narryna House Museum which is part of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart. It incorporates a mix of 'found objects' alongside objects I have fabricated. I like the interplay of made and found, blurring the boundaries of history. The chatelaine was a device worn by the lady of the house. It dangled from the waist and contained useful items (e.g. small scissors, a button hook, a perfume container, notebook). It was a predecessor of the handbag.
