All at sea

Marine voyages were very much part of colonial exploration and exploitation. In this series of works exhibited at the Tasmanian Maritime Museum in 2023 as part of Re-imagining the Ocean, I align vintage boat pulleys with 'washed up' cutlery pieces, engraved with text. Patina helps to add to a sense of 'pastness'. The scale challenges the idea of wearability.
