Handcrafted contemporary Tasmanian jewellery - Janine Combes

This necklace is part of the Profile 22 exhibition at the Australian Design Centre, Sydney. It is made from recycled copper wire, and vintage coins, engraved with text. 

The work references the Suffragette movement members who carved the text 'votes for women' into British coins as part of their campaign for the vote.
