The Invitation
This is one of a series of brooches made in 2017 for the exhibition Inscription and Place shown at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG). This work is about an invitation to a ball at Markree which is now a house museum run by TMAG. The works for the exhibition traced the lives of women of the family who built Markree.
The materials are paper, Japanese lacquer, gold leaf, brass, paper and shellac.
