An exhibition to celebrate the 100th birthday of Nettie Combes (who also happens to be my mum) is coming up soon. I have been working hard to create a whole show of jewellery pieces about Nettie's life- historical, descriptive and flowers, flowers flowers.......Nettie has been growing and selling flowers for as long as anyone can remember, she is the flower lady of the Huon Valley and has many loyal customers.
I will be sharing some highlights over the coming weeks. It is on for 3 weekends: 22 October to 5 November at Art Farm, Birches Bay in southern Tasmania from 10 am to 4pm. Come on down and see the show.
On 22 June 2017 a group of four Tasmanian jewellers (CUSP) opened an exhibition titled Inscription and Place at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition references the Baldwin Bequest and seeks to 're-interpret, re-frame and re-contextualise history and memory through the jewellery object'.
The exhibition is in the Central Gallery, Level 2 and runs until October 22nd 2017.
My new exhibition called 'Head in the Clouds' is opening at Handmark Gallery in Hobart on Friday 5th May at 6pm. The new range is about climate change and its impact on our marine environment in particular. Come along to see Red Tide brooches and earrings, Kelp Window pendants and many more.....
